How to Promote Live Music at a Restaurant or Bar

How to actually fill the room for live music nights at your restaurant or bar. The promotion playbook, Reels, stories, ads, and timing.
Live music can be the most profitable night of the week, or the slowest. The difference almost always comes down to promotion, not the band. We've worked with restaurants and bars across Texas, including the J.S. Barnett's Whiskey House /case-studies/js-barnetts-whiskey-house case study, and the pattern is consistent.
- Promote each live music event for at least 10 days. Three-day promotion windows produce empty rooms. - Video of the band beats every other creative type for filling the room. Even a 15-second clip from a previous performance. - Stories drive more day-of conversions than feed posts. Both are needed. - A $40, $80 Meta ad spend per event in a local market typically books 25 to 60 extra walk-ins. - The artist's audience is your biggest free marketing channel. Most venues never tap it.
Feed post + Reel. Photo of artist + 1 to 2 sentence intro + date, time, no cover. Save a graphic with the date for repurposing.
